The Symposium Miguel Ozorio de Almeida (SMOA) is a biennial symposium designed by the Department of Physiological Sciences from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ).
The main aim of SMOA is to allow a broader view on the topics under discussion, giving new ideas and enriching studies that are already underway, contributing in the training of undergraduate and graduate students in regard to scientific discussions. Experiences in previous events showed us that the completion of SMOA in a small venue allows greater interaction among researchers and students.
In its third edition, the SMOA meeting highlights speakers to discuss their scientific lines of research in different fields of Physiological Sciences. The themes of symposiums were chosen both for its scientific importance and for the possible collaboration in actual and future studies with the Graduate Program in Physiological Sciences from UFRRJ. Also, the students will present their research in oral or poster session and the best presentations will be awarded.
